Following some simple rules for pies and donuts will help to prevent chart disasters:
- The “100 per cent rule” – pie charts should account for a complete set of data.
- Never use 3-d or exploded segments. This is more than aesthetic disdain
- Label segments directly where possible – and don’t use too many segments.
