Another view of the data converts the harms and benefits into a ratio, generating a single value – ICU admissions prevented per blood clot caused. This new metric allows us to bring all three risk exposure scenarios together in a compact form, highlighting the one combination of age and risk where the risk outweighs the benefit (i.e., the ratio is below one) – adults in their twenties in a low-risk environment. Note the gently helpful role of the log scale on the x axis.
