• Hans Rosling’s Bubble Chart show five of the nine relationships on FT Visual Vocabulary (p93 How Charts Work)
  • scatter plot = Correlation
  • dot size = Magnitude
  • colour = region - Spatial
  • Animation = Change over time
  • axis/dot size = Distribution

A key takeaway here is that Rosling generated broad public interest by adding information to his charts, not stripping it away or dumbing it down – a remarkable achievement in the field of data communication.
